The little hippo cookie jar is adorable. I think these are pretty new, probably from China, maybe from a shop like "Ross" or "Steinmart" - where they also have gifts for sale, in addition to clothing.

What size are they? They look like miniatures.

    The hippo is 11 1/2" × 7 1/2"
The tree stump cookie jar is 9"× 8" (that includes the snail on the top)

@MML thank you so much. Also mine is not the same color. Does that matter?

These look to be hand painted cookie jars from local pottery shops. Both those had the painters name on it.

No, not necessarily. Not all old pottery is marked either.

The tree stump jar on eBay has someone's initials and 78 painted on it, kind of looks like home ceramics listed on eBay. On the other hand, the one on Etsy and your stump jar both also look like home ceramics that were never completely finished off with stains / glazes. The snail and squirrel(?) on yours are still the original white of the porcelain slip. The Etsy jar may be made of clay due to the color of brown, hard to tell from a quick look at the picture.

Your hippo jar is a gem. :cat:

@antidiem thank you so much for your help. The hippo was a cute find at a real cheap price. I've also got another one but hes green and I think it's a McCoy? 20180906_103728.jpg

Your green hippo is Brush Pottery's Happy Hippo Cookie Jar #W45 from 1969. Should be a mark of some kind or another on the base. Could just be USA or W45. Really cute jar.

Sure, sometimes the photos are easier to see them. :)
