IMG_6231.jpeg IMG_6226.jpeg IMG_6229.jpeg IMG_6232.jpeg I was so pleased to find this enormous 40cm tall sang de boeuf vase today. The seller said the incised signature was illegible but I am certain that it is by Pol Chambost and dated 1973.

Chambost (1906-83) was an important potter in France I just hope that it gets spotted by some French collectors when I put it on eBay.

That's pretty. Not a name I know, but the potties might.

It's nice but I'm more attracted to your table lamp. What is it and how do you keep you place so tidy? I don't have a spare square inch in mine.

If that first photo is from the piece, you can clearly see the Pol Chambost signature!

    What a great looking vase!

Great vase, great size! I don't know if it's the photos, but the glaze looks lighter in hue than other sang de boeuf glazes I've seen. You could post the listing on the French eBay site.

Check out the Ruskin oxblood stuff if you want to see light!

I’ll take it in just about any hue. Here’s one of a pair of lamps I have. I figured they were made as lamps when I bought them. I checked anyway after having them a while and they are drilled vases. Probably still not super old, but interesting. 6C5EAB7D-CB19-48C4-8141-BB188C246CF4.jpeg

Cool Ruskin vase, but dare I say atypical? I do like sang de boeuf glazes, but there was a Chinese vase that had a similar type glaze but in blue -- can't remember the name of the vase, typical of a senior aged brain, LOL!

Definitely atypical. Seem to be highly collected none the less. Flambé the glaze you’re looking for? Ox blood/sang de boeuf Chinese glazes fall under the flambé category mostly I believe. I love the flambé glazes that incorporate the purples/blues/greens/turquoise as well as the reds. I may like the purples more actually. I just got a really neat big jug in a purple flambé. I have a great miniature Chinese vase in purple flambé too.
