Reason I say "finally" is because it had been in a consignment shop for 2 weeks ..I pointed it out to some of my friends, told them it was probably a fairly early one etc., but nobody seemed particularly enthused ..I put off buying it myself because ...well, I don't have 20 paintings in the bathtub, but things are getting pretty full around here ...:jawdrop:

Anyway, I bought it today for the grand sum of $18.

Mark is Carter Stabler Adams Poole England, with 202 incised and a couple? of decorator marks. Just over 6" high. Any further info gratefully received!

If that were in its home market, I bet it wouldn't have lasted 2 days, never mind two weeks, at that price.

It's early. POssibly decorated by Hazel Allner.

OBB - Factory mark apparently in use only between 1921-34, so not Hazel Allner - she started in the 1940's from what I can gather?

I wouldn't have known what it was, and an idle guess would have been 1980s, not pre-WWII.

Nice find. It pays to know.
