Porcelain Clowns

    I found these two Clowns at my local Goodwill. They are not exactly the same. The shape and paint are alittle different. They are nicely detailed and very cool. The coats they are wearing look like it has real gold on them. They look vintage but I'm not exactly sure because i do not see any writing on them. If anyone can tell me anything about them i would appreciate it very much! Thank you!

    We need to see pics of the bottoms,even though theres no writing you can often tell other things from them.And welcome.:)

    There was a guy on the old ebay boards named Wally who collected clowns and he'd have known in a second.

    Im thinking 1960s Japanese or Chinese.But I could be wrong.

    I think johnnycb may be correct. People who collect clowns could tell you more. One of the most famous clown guys was Ron Lee. Here's a clip from the website to show you the detail on his.

    That's why we're here - trying to help each other learn. Some collectors specialize in the high end stuff like Ron Lee, but others are just collectors. I follow a Facebook page called the Golden Glow of Christmas Past and you would be totally amazed at the level of collecting, from the smallest, least expensive pieces to the big Kugel ornaments that go for thousands.
