    It's a piano baby. German or Austrian, I half know that mark.

    Not of any quality. Could be Japanese IMHO.

    For sure, some of the images in that link are of lesser quality also than some of the others.

    Anne.....do you mean that the one you posted is one you've only seen in a photo? In other words, it does not belong to you?

    Take a look at the figurine you posted, and notice the lack of detail in the fingers. Plus, quality antique piano babies will have a thin red line over the eyelid.....not black.

    IT does not belong to me. Just trying to update myself in pottery, porcelain, marks etc :)

    I Can see lack of details on fingers here and understand that is no good. I open another post with figur with details and no marks, just signatur on stand.

    @Anne Grethe

    If the piece is something you really like and isn't expensive, then detail isn't important as long as the seller isn't charging "detail" prices.:cat:

    That said, only if you are considering it to buy. Beauty, as it is said, is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone has a different view.

    I agree :) and sometimes I buy after whats beauty in my eyes, but I really want to learn about What to look after in small markets . And IF I found a great item I wouldnt want to sell IT for nothing :) I buy and sell a little here in Norway, but not for long. this forum is really great!!!!

    Anne.....you will learn as you go along.......it takes years, and one never knows it all. Buying and selling is a great tool. Start with inexpensive items and try to buy what you like....just in case it doesn't sell.

    There is no easy solution........we are all in the learning stage here........we learn from each other.

    Questions and photos from others help all of us. Keep asking......we'll keep learning!:cat:

    (I hope to visit the beautiful fjords of Norway next year........fingers and toes crossed!)
