I don't know if any of you remember this portrait. i posted it back in 2014. I am showing a pic of what it looked like before and what it looks like now. I am thinking of selling it and was wondering if it should be put in another frame.

    Hi Mikey,
I would put it in an oval frame and use a black or dark green matt oval with it. It just gives me the strangest feeling seeing it in that frame and white matt. JMHO

Very nice Mikey. Yes, an oval matt, and, if you can find it, an oval frame.
The gentleman, although much more distinguished now, looks a bit 'ghostly' in the rectangular matt.

I think it looks very good. Did you do the rules yourself?

Is this a painting pasted to a card? It looks like someone took a rectangular painting, cut it into a big oval, then glued it down.

You've re-touched the paint? Very nice.

In the original post from 2014 I was told it might be a
crayon portrait or solar enlargement. It is painted on the board. Originally it was cut down (not by me) to fit the oval frame. A friend did the restoration for me. he kept it for almost two years, but touched it up, cleaned it up a bit, and put it in this frame for free so i couldn't complain about how long he had it.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

That Oval frame is PERFECT for the gentleman, and I'd put him right back in it!!!! Unless it's on a glass in front, his face has a couple more spots than before restoration, but otherwise, very nice!!

I think it would be best back in the oval frame even if it's a little worn. He looks quite distinguished
