Possible George Morland

    Hi all,

    I purchased the below recently and see a indistinct signature or something on the rear which lead me to research George Morland. Now possibly I am looking into it too much and its impossible to get a picture of the rear showing the writing as its so faint. Any opinions on the similar style to George Morland, especially in the trees, horse and snow.
    These are oil on panel, 16 x 25 cm approx.

    Your painting looks as if someone has made a copy of a Morland with a few differences like the man’s jacket colour and tree with leaves.

    Yes, looks identical when compared like that. I did not pick up on that when doing research.

    The frame has had woodworm and could disintegrate depending on the severity of the infestation.
