Possible Mexican painting

I have had this painting for a few years now in my storage closet. Now I finally decorated my living room and hung this up, but still trying to find out who the artist is.
When I wet the oil painting, is the only time you can see the signature. Hopefully someone can guess who it is, it's an oil on board with wood bark applied to some house parts.

 

with the high wires and those carridges...I'm not seeing mexico.

 

One of the figures on the right seems to be carrying something on his/her head. Something I usually associate with Asia or Africa.
Spanish colonial church in Asia, Philippines maybe?
