Possible old document seal, maybe German States.

    About 4 inches dia, by 1/3 inch thick. Possibly 16th C and I think I can make out one word, German for 'of the city'.

    I can see "Stadt" ("City" or "Town")...but not much else.

    I thought I could see 'stadtish-' but it now looks more like 'stadt sch??'

    The picture is easier to read than the original object.

    I see:

    STADTSCHU...

    And I agree with SIS - The seal matches that coat of arms.

    Could it be Stadtschloss? (City Palace/Castle)?
