So far I cannot find this mark, does anyone here know it? or know where to look? I've googled France spatter and spongeware and all that happy stuff even mottoware. The saying inside is something along.... 'if you want a happy home put your mother in law in a cage' LOL Thanks! lcfrance.jpg lcfrance1.jpg

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Helpless as far as the bowl, but... as usual, I don't read opening input fully. My translation was...
"If you would be happy in the household, put your beautiful mother... something... where???"
    Sounded risqué.
Then I read the rest of what you wrote. Mother-in-law. In a cage, of course.

I have an ashtray made the same way. It's a souvenir piece from a trip I took as a teenager. No clue who made mine either. It has jewelry and other bits in it of course.(LOL)

Hello, I’m late to the party! I have 8 of these and also looking for the origin without much success. They are not ashtrays but in fact wine tasters. Each one has a different French proverb.
