Armorial porcelain lidded jar in famille rose palette - my first thought was Chinese but Samson also produced similar pieces.

Well the crazing tells us that it isn't old Chinese, or a Samson porcelain copy.
This piece seems to have a pottery body and without further pictures of the entire base and a detail shot of the rim, lid and undersides etc., it will be hard guess the origin ...maybe it is Dutch/French or even Homesense?

Maybe someone knows the armorial? It looks too involved and precise to be modern decorator ware so maybe it is a European tin glazed piece.

I have had that look of crazing on newer Japanese.

I get Japanese vibe as well. Not Dutch, that I know of.
They are very small, but look a bit more fussy and multi-coloured than your regular fleur de lis.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

    AND I don't think this helps at all.....REALLY need a sharp close-up!!!

It looks like pretty recent Japanese to me, but if you like it, and you feel the price is right, buy it.
Tagging some members who may know the mark, @clutteredcloset49 , @Mat .:)

Why do you want to buy it?
Because you like it and want to display it? or to resell?

Personally, I think this is newer, not old.
I would not pay a lot unless I just wanted it.

Hard to see in photo but it looks like transfer or bad paint job. The crackle doesn't mean it is old or antique they can fake the crackle...crazing. I agree with Debora.

$200?! There is nothing about that item that would indicate it was anything other than FOB China. Compare the quality with these:

Pair of Edme Samson Porcelain Ginger Jars
20th century, French, the facted jars decorated with armorials on a famille rose palette and Samson raised white decoration, with faux Chinese rouge-de-fer marks, and blue transfer "Porcelain de Paris" marks with crossed swords.

Have you seen this in person, or going by photos?

    When in doubt - Don't.
$200 is a lot to gamble on something you are not sure of.
