Pottery: matte turquoise low flower candlesticks

    these are only marked 44, great color and glaze but I cannot find them anywhere. any suggestions?? THanks!!

    I have to look at my records, I remember having them in white.

    I want to say Abingdon, but have nothing (so far) to back it up.

    Gladding McBean is another that had this creamy glaze, but I haven't been able to find any like it.
    Also, both companies *almost always* marked their items, but not always.

    I have had these candle holders in satin matte white a few years ago with Id. Gladding Mcbean is a good option, but I think they might be Haldeman Caliente.....

    There is a red one very like these--crummy picture--in Chipman's Collector's Ency. of Calif. Pottery under Haldeman. It says 2" x 5" , doesn't show the bottom, just says incised marks.

    The bottoms are quite different though.

    the shape looks right but the bottom of mine is different

    It wouldn't surprise me if the mold was changed for some reason at Haldeman or another Calif pottery copied the holders. Any case, if they were mine I would sell as Haldeman attributed. The glaze compares well with other Haldeman items.
