    Hello antiquers,

I have found this pottery in a vide-maison in France with a lot of old family-items.
And I wonder what it is. A mortar ? And can anyone tell me how old it is and where it comes from ?
It feels ancient. I am really intrigued with it. It has been repaired a long time ago as you can see.

Someone cared enough about it to staple it which was a professional job back in the day. Really rustic! I love it!

It is a mixing bowl for sauces. The little spout is a clue. 19th century imo.
Great piece, and I love the staples.:)
