    IMG_2655.JPG IMG_2648.JPG IMG_2660.JPG IMG_2651.JPG IMG_2661.JPG These pitchers are 6 3/4 in. tall; bottom diameter is 4.5 in.

I haven't been able to decipher the marks, other than the "2."
Figuring they are 20th century, but hoping to narrow that down.

I rubbed ground cinnamon into the pottery stamp, to no avail. I still can't figure it out.

    Thanks.

Something about those pitchers made me think of Williamsburg. Is there any chance this is the mark?

@SBSVC - There are some similarities. Both are oval, and have some type of stick or branch design in the middle, but I can't say it feels quite right, per my cursory stroll through google since your post.
Also, these are not salt glaze, and that seems to be most of what I just saw for the Williamsburg reproductions...

But, possibly the mark changed slightly over the years, and there is truly only a modicum of wear on the bottoms, so timing wold seem to fit.

Thanks for the lead. Hoping others will have ideas too.

Maybe 3 stars above an "F"

@clutteredcloset49 - That's interesting. The center mark looks a little like a pawn shop mark - three suspended spheres hanging from something above the vertical part - the scripted F that you drew in.

    So, the plot thickens.

    Thank you.

    Hi,
That certainly does look like the Williamsburg mark. I looked in my Williamsburg productions book and they only have salt glaze listed. Of course my book was last printed in in 1985 so it might have been a more recent production. It certainly looks like the Williamsburg symbol to me. Sbsvc has shown the symbol in an earlier post.

Hm. I've got some Gres poterie somewhere, I'll do a quick compare. Looks right though.

I found a pitcher like yours with a google image search! I put France pitcher in the search box next to the image. Every once in awhile, it works.
