There is a large kiln kiss on the rim.
Any idea where this may be coming from?
    Thanks

    Generic south-east Asian I suspect.

Don't know the origin but that blemish on the rim is what is sometimes called a kiln kiss. It is where two pieces touched in the kiln and had to be broken apart afterwards. This is a pretty bad one in a bad place and most potteries would discard such wares.
