Uh-oh - I just realized I might have brought Satan home with me today. Visited a local flea market and found these two vases that I thought might be old. What I originally thought was a decorative rim I now realize is probably horns. These stand about 3 3/4" high, 3" across the top, and 2" across the bottom. No manufacturer's mark of any kind. Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks!

I too would call these spill holders.

    Staffordshire region? Germany?

    Mid/late 19th. cent.?

They're pretty cool. Could easily be Czech.

Not English, to me. I'd think Bohemia, Germany or Austria. that devil thing is pretty typical. Late 19th.

Thanks, folks! The information is much appreciated. Now I have to decide whether to sell or keep. I could put them next to my Wade Dracula.

I'd suggest it's Mad King Ludwig of Bavaria - but that's a real reach.
