    Sorry I meant pitcher for title....Is this just some art or for a plant? Because I don’t think it’s holding any water lol. Has a impressed 18 on bottom and I think some other numbers. Looks sort of like the things you use to sprout bulb plants like crocus.

    Not a clue. Is there actually a hole to the spout from inside?

    The hole in the bottom makes it a lamp, doesn't it?

    It could just be that the potter wanted the pot to look like a pitcher or jug and that it doesn't have any other reason for being there. {shrug}

    The hole in the bottom provides drainage so the plant doesn't get root rot. ;)

    @Bakersgma yes but why have the spout functional......I was thinking this was some sort of puzzle pot but I think holes are big on the sides

    The hole in the bottom would let water run out.

    True, which is why it can't be a "vase" but can be a planter.

    Maybe spout lets you pour off excess water in a controlled way. I'm with Bakers that maybe potter was just going for that I'm-a-Little-Teapot look. (I'm making this up.)
    You'd have to put one of those plates under it. It couldn't be filled with only water. You'd have to have some soil or at least some pebbles.

    All my house plant pots have saucers - even the outdoor plant pots have saucers. The one orchid pot I have has a built-in saucer - and lots of holes on the sides. ;)
