I bought this vase recently, and it REEKS of something! Ive soaked it in vinegar, put it in a bin with baking soda, left it in the sun for days, yet it still has an awful smell.I love it,but Im not having some stinky vase in my house,so suggestions would be wonderful. Ive been kicking around the idea of an air purifier, but Im hesitant to pull the trigger.I know,I know, its kinda ugly, but has a wonderful metallic glaze pics cant seem to capture(my pics at any rate!).
Hi Johnny, I agree bury it in kitty litter for a couple of days. Sounds like a couple of mice peed in it. As a matter of last. Spray it with a clear fast drying acrylic spray both inside and the outside. greg
Cat pee will do it too, especially unfixed tomcat. I'd try filling it with hydrogen peroxide and letting that sit for a few days. It might not work, but it can't hurt either.
I have it sitting on the porch, and my aunt walked up and said "Whats that awful smell?" ! I swear it smells like a dead body or something. I think I might just toss it if nothing works, its kinda creeping me out!
Dead rodent maybe. A mouse would fit and if it's decomp that's gotten into it, the smell may be there for the duration.
Is it signed? I wonder if something went wacky with the glaze? Some experiment gone awry...? If I couldn't get the smell 100% out, I'd pitch it.
