Featured Potties,is this as special as I think ?

Hi all. Picked this up today despite the tiny chip on the rim. It MADE me do it.I never touch chipped or cracked or crazed anything,but I started looking at this and I had to have it. It may be student,or hobbyist,but I love it.Its hared to capture,but the silvery streaks look like figures climbing? Its 5 inches tall,9 wide. Any and all input is always appreciated.

 

Can't see this base but this similar one they say was designed c1930 by WHvan Norden executed by Eskaf

May I ask how you found it? If you tell me google images I'll scream! LOL !

 

(I won't tell you then, screaming not allowed). I have seen Eskaf before, found during my looking at Dutch pottery (I have quite bit). I didn't, however, find a red one like yours in the bit of looking I did.

 

Fair enough,no screaming then. I used to be able to find stuff fairly easily,but for some reason my skills are flagging. That gets frustrating at times.

 

And even though that auction one didn't/hasn't sold, there's nothing bashful or shameful about that Euro ASKING price!!!!! Nice FIND, Johnny!!! Sometimes, it's GOOD to follow your gut!!! And I like the colors on yours better anyway!

Bordello-ish is fine, keep looking for red, this is a very rare one, most are green. Although it was made in Steenwijk in the east of the Netherlands, the style is of the Amsterdam School, which influenced all Dutch arts in the early years of the 20th century (and still does).

By the way, Botterweg is usually at the top end of estimates. I think what it sold for on Catawiki is more realistic. Red is rare, but yours has a small chip, I don't know what the value would be.
