Potties: Mexican terracotta jug - Region? Age?

Any info on this terracotta jug from Mexico, like age and/or region, would be very helpful!

 

Although this isn't my specialty I really like the banded redware jug. My question is why do you think it's Mexican? I may be wrong but the form, to me anyway, more closely resembles a jug from eastern Europe. The Mexican redware always seemed to me to be more thinly potted, generally with a more bulbous bottom, and/or a spout...and I don't ever recall seeing the wonderful banding on a piece from Mexico. I could be wrong, (I really don't know much about Mexican ceramics), but if you have nothing concrete you might want to consider 19th Century eastern Europe (or maybe France).

It looks European to me as well.

 

It is approximately 8” tall and 4” diameter.
