Hi all . Found these not so attractive things but 2 things gave me pause. The bluish tint to the glaze and the detail of the beak . Also a pair, and you know how I like a pair . Around 8 inches high . Any input is appreciated.

Well, I think not so much a pair but 2 of the same thing. I think they are modern, but that's just my feeling.

I found this pic at Garrard Antiques. Blanc de chine Chinese hawks. A true pair. I think that yours are meant to be Chinese hawks

You can usually tell the newer pieces because the details are blurred.

Either way you scored. They are good looking and will sell well over your paid price. Maybe grab some better photos in natural light? Looks a bit glossy/shiny to me. Two exactly the same might not be a great sign. The slots or whatever they are in the base look really rigid. They are cool though!

Heres some outside pics. I tried so hard to capture the blue but it proved difficult ! I think the detail is better than the usual ,but I also recognize that means nothing in this world . They have grown on me though. :)

Is it a coin on the base? Are the slots for the coin? Good detail but not great on the base. A good side shot might be helpful. I’d think not more than 50 years old. Probably replicating Chinese or Japanese blanc de chine. Definitely not in the range of the ones Kent posted. I still think they are cool and a great score at $6 on a pair.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I love them -- Can just imagine having a raptor staring at me while I work. :hilarious:
(Just my weird sense of humor... I really do love them.)
