Those are typical transferware. If contemporary to her, World War I-ish.

Sweet. Take a magnifying glass and see if you can discern little dots in the painting; that would mean it's a transfer and not handpainted. Brush strokes would mean the opposite. And transfers can have a little handpainted embellishment. My feeling is middle third of the 20th c.

    hi there

yeah no dots up close with a loupe, and definite brush strokes
but as you say, could be painted on top of a transfer

That said... I don't think I've ever seen an antique porcelain frame. They were popular kinda 1960s on. What is the backing fabric? (Beyond "blue," of course.)

    hi deb

the blue backing is a thick paper type over porcelain. middle part is blue paper over wood

I suspect it's a miniature frame which someone has reused for a photo. That flower decoration is quite 19th C.

I'd like to see some examples of 19th c. similars.

The painting is 19th in style, imo. I've an older Meissen vase, for example, with similar and have owned and seen, oh, Coalport and stuff. Even the choice and variety of the blooms. I'm rather inclined to German. Wonder what's under that backing.

Yeah I am very tempted to look under, it's just risky with those old tabs, once they snap n all

Yeah, I'm sticking to my dating more or less. Those tabs are earlier ones, so first half 20th c. As OBB has stated, the floral decoration is Meissen/continental like, but I still think it's a 20th c. item. JMHO.
