    Hi all,
I bought this little Victorian perforated paper needle book and on the back is some text I can't make out, just the odd words here and there.
    Can anyone help? IMG_2346.jpeg

All hail to the day of your birth
    on this morn

    For your health and prosperity
    always I pray,

May your life be all roses and
    free from thorn

And may you have Many Happy
    Returns Of The Day.

Just to confirm, it is English, yes? I probably only see words you see: 'The Birthday'; your birth; Many Happy Returns of the Day.

    The rose/thistle/shamrock decoration, very patriotic.

I kind of got lucky as I figured out the first line and a quick search turned that up.

The date is 1850, can anyone make out what is just above that?

Maybe Cecilia? Farmes? July 4th? 1856?

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I think SiS hit the date, but I still can't make out the name!! Maybe Cecelia Longwood or Longmore??

    It's very cool!!!!:):)

Is it possible to get another picture of the last section in question?

The current one is just blurry enough to distort.

Here is the front, I added the Victorian bow from a fan that was falling to bits, I'm pretty sure it would have had a very similar bow once :) IMG_2347 2.jpeg

    Not so much. :joyful:

Maybe try with the camera farther away (but still as straight on as possible) and then cropping pic (for forum size)? Right now it looks like you're blocking your light source with the camera being so close to the piece.

I see 'Rac' as possible for first 3 letters of surname/second name.

Trying to understand what I'm seeing, here. Is this part stitched or written? I think written as I see no holes, but maybe written to mimic stitches?

And did someone retrace the original writing? Trying to understand what looks like double lines.

This is a tough one, but I've not given up hope. :pompous:
