This is a small plate (7 inches across) and cup (3 1/4 inches tall), all hand painted, quite lovely to me, with a few edge nicks and a hairline. In my online searches I've seen similar described as Italian faience and/or majolica. What would be the correct terminology to describe these items, and any thought as to age?
    Thanks for any help.

I am bumping this old thread of mine up to see if anyone has any comments about this set. I've just unearthed it from the "needs more research" pile.
    Thanks for any thoughts.
