Hi all. Boy pickings have been grim lately ! I did find this 8x8 box .Normally not my thing, but I noticed the way the edges and even the bottom were done,as well as the inside lid and it intrigued me. The inside is in pristine condition, wich makes me wonder if newer . Smells old though ! Any input is always appreciated. front bottom
Vintage at a minimum. It's a bit more artistic than some with that texturing, so maybe 1940s-60s? See what others think. I like the border on it too!
Lovely box, early 20th century imo. Pyrography was very popular during the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. The designs look AN going on to AD.
Thanks everyone . Yall know I love a box so it has a good home. Its in such good shape I just knew it was newish. Someone really treasured it.
It's rare to find a pyrographed box like that made in the USA after WWI. I'd guess it's about 120 years old and someone really went to town on it.
The outside looks old, but the wood inside doesn't. I think it's disappointing and you shouldn't keep it. I'll take it off your hands.
