    Hullo.

I've recently come across this mark on the underside of a tray - no other marks on it, so I thought I would ask here.

It's a politician!:rolleyes::rolleyes: This is a case where seeing the whole thing would help.

    A punk kangaroo?
    Ditto.
It looks like a maker's mark from a country where marks are not regulated. Seeing the tray could help.

I've been to our silver guy who has said it is plate which is a huge relief - couldn't have kept it if it was as the guilt from only paying £50 would have eaten away. Here is a photo of the tray itself. I'm guessing, from the style, that the earliest it would be is 1960s, but I'm no expert. We're assuming that the plating is quite thick on it as an ice cube melts very quickly in comparison to how quickly it melts on other plated items and a magnet slows a bit as it slides down the tray.

    And it's very large - 60cm x 40cm. Weighs about 3.5kg.

If that's real silver...whooee. It not it's still a nice find. It's an elegant tray.
