Here is a necklace measuring 24". I'm told it was purchased at the Marin Show Art of the Americas. Buyer thinks she paid around $300 for it.

Would this be considered a Thunderbird?
To my (unknowing) eye, the work seems crude, and not necessarily pretty. But perhaps that may help to date it. Might it be very old? I also wonder what stones may be used in it. Here's a closer shot.

Finally, here it is from the back.

Thank you! Next up I will show a sterling damascene bracelet from Thailand.

I see coral, turquoise , and shell and what looks like a santo domingo Pueblo thunderbird...but I can't be 100% certain it's NA from the south west, without having it in my hand.

Here is.....they say....? an earring from 1930 to 50....that's similar....

I see these being called ' depression era battery birds' , using recycled materials .....

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Folk art meets Native American, I guess? Like... there are trained professional NA artists and then just average NA folks making do with what's available?

$300 at the Marin show , is likely solid ground to believe you'rs is legit !

komokwa, first thank you. Next, can you tell me what keywords you might have used to locate the necklace above? Thank you again! And apologies for the tardy reply.

Nice or you to say that.

I wonder if you agree that mine looks more crude than the example you show above.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

    Just my thought, NorthernRidge...
Yeah, Komo's necklace does seem finer, but... his earring is similar in workmanship, yes?
