This carved oak painted plaque (8.75" square) looks like it might be from the early 1900s, or could it be newer or older? I'm also wondering what type of person is represented and from where? I couldn't find anything similar online.

    Egyptian revival?

Even though the front looks like it has age, the wood on the back looks fairly fresh to me. So maybe it was made relatively recently but styled to look old?

Egyptian revival sounds like the right style -- thank you Pat.
