Here is what I think is a pretty lovely, multi-strand choker of small hematite beads. At 17" in length, it weighs a hefty 5.6 oz, or 168 grams.

There is nothing like it in sold listings on eBay. The few items I looked at are not genuine hematite. So for starters, I would like help in valuing this item. It's from the same client whose things I've been showing here for a while now. Again, I lack confidence in my usual habit of starting with a low—9.99—starting price. It worked with the Tiffany, but that seems to be different.
    Here's a close-up of the stones.

Finally, the clasp. I've not seen one like it before. Is there a name for this type?

    As always, many thanks!

Wow, Galeria. That necklace you've shown here really does look the same. Thank you for the links. I'm on my way.

You are brilliant, Galeria. It is the same necklace. And my client told me she thought it was Tiffany's, but I didn't pay it much mind, since there was no package. I totally missed the mark until I went to the site showing the necklace above. Voila!

That site lists estimated value very high—1800 - 3600. Wow.

Did you test with a magnet? Fake/man made hematite is magnetic, natural rarely is.

Thank you, Holly. I appreciate all input. I don't think I need to test it, now that I know it's the same necklace as the one Galeria showed above. I'm so happy to find that mine is also marked!

Holly, they MAKE hematite? Please, why would the man-made be more likely to be magnetic? Very curious.

Google "fake hematite",natural hematite is fairly low on iron content.

So, with the auction site of the other (identical necklace) starting the listing at $1200, I wonder if that would also work for me...
