Featured Questions on these two necklaces. Help please.

The first one is glass. Would the beads be called cased glass or art glass? They have sort of a twisted shape. I have searched to find a match but no luck. Venetian/Murano beads seem to have adventurine or foil flecks in them. These do not, they just have air bubbles. Could they still be Italian or perhaps Chinese? They have a barrel clasp.

With the second one, the green beads test as Jadeite and the black ones test as glass. I am not finding any matches to the style. I was wondering if the clasp could indicate where it might have been made. Thanks for looking and for any opinions or direction that would help me search further.

 

The jade beads are probably dyed. It is a nice colour combination, with black. The black beads could be Czech made 'French jet', which is simply Bohemian/Czech black glass.
I wonder if the pendant is onyx, did you test it as well?

The clasp is Indian or Balinese made, but they are sold in bulk for jewellery crafters. I think yours is a pretty craft piece, possibly inspired by Art Deco, but made 20 or so years ago.

 

Thanks Any. The pendant tested as glass as well. I particularly like the marcasite embellishment on it. As a craft piece, it is very well made.

 

Yes, that also adds to the Art Deco feel.

There are some very good crafters out there. Just like other amateurs, some are better than professionals.

 

Cased clear orange spatter glass. Tricky to pin down an origin, they're made all over.
