R.V.W. - anyone know whic company has this mark?

I have an Imari style cup and saucer set with the base stamp R.V.W. below a crown. The number 478 is also stamped (I assume the design number). I am told it is Royal Crown Derby, but the base stamp is not one I recognise from that company. Can anyone shed any light on who made these? Thanks.

Can you please show a clear, sharp close up of the mark?

Kovel's has it as Richard Vernon Wildblood, Longton, Staffordshire 1887-88

Thanks for replies. Older than I thought (assuming mark is as Ricard Vernon Wildblood) and perhaps I should be asking more than the 20 pounds sterling I was thinking of (for each cup and saucer).

This is from Godden's book which is often more highly regarded as a source than Kovel's. They seem to be in agreement.

I think £20 is about right. Nice quality.

Yes, Godden is nigh-on gospel, but it seems Mr. Wildblood's factory was very short-lived, and thepotteries shows the various names of businesses he was partner in. Interesting that looking at this piece and the photos in thepotteries link, the quality is quite different. May be why this business lasted but a year.

Thanks all. I must conclude that my pieces are from the short lived Richard Vernon Wildblood pottery enterprise as the mark is more or less identical. Good forum this, I will be asking it more Qs later.
