Makanudo There is no such thing as simple.Simple is hard.

This is very interesting sub category in postcards, so please share your specimens.
It would be great if someone could shed more light on circumstances leading to scenes depicted in these postcards:

Wow. That is one heck of a flood. Nothing on the backs to indicate when or where?

    Hi!
No. These postcards were never posted and the back only reads POST CARD and place your stamp here, domestic stamp 1c and foreign Two cents

What is printed on the reverse - like the postage amount and arrangement of space on which to write - can be clues about the age of a US postcard. Can you post a picture of one of the backs?

A lot of poles carrying a lot of wires for 1913, no?

The postage quoted is too low for 1937. Much more likely to be the 1913 event.

I'm not sure who it is here that has dated postcards before. Perhaps @Figtree3 ?

Not for a sizable eastern city.

Thats the second thing you look for to identify the authenticity of a postcard.
First thing is paper it was printed on.

Fatima cigarettes (last postcard) were the best-selling cigarette brand in the U.S. from 1910 to 1920. But they did go on for some years after. I'm not a good judge of clothing period styles by sight, but zooming in on that last postcard gives a decent shot of people...albeit, a bit dark.

These would not be considered real photo postcards, since they are printed. They look to be 1910-20's.

I think I see lettering on the bridge that may say "Dayton Lighting CO", which would confirm the location.
