Hi, everyone! I hope you all had a nice Easter!

Does anyone recognize this horse? Llama? (What kind of animal is it?) figurine?

It is stamped on one foot and the stamp, alone, makes me think of Howard Pierce. The style of the figurine, though, doesn't seem quite like his.

    Any ideas?

    It's about 8" tall.

    Thank you!

I'm wondering if it's a cow/bull like Nandi. So maybe Hindu, Indian?

    Wow...
First thought was unshorn llama or alpaca, but head/ears not right for unshorn (shorn, maybe).
So I guess it has to be a horse. Highly stylized, maybe one of the plump guys, like Percherons?
    I dunno...

    EDIT
Well, SIS... the outfit looks related.

Hi, all! Thanks for the responses. Quite confusing on what kind of animal it is to you, too, huh? LOL! I'm sorry my picture is blurry, but if you squint and look at the close-up of the mark, I think "POTTERY" is the middle word. It looks American to me. It seems so familiar......Does the stamp ring any bells with anyone?

    Thanks again!

Looks like a llama or alpaca to me. I searched for a bit, but didn't come up with a match, sorry

The legs and neck are too short for llama or alpaca.

Well, it is a stylized animal of some sort! :) I'll work that out with keywords, using the wonderful help from you all, when I put it up for sale. Anyone have any thoughts on the stamped mark? I'll try to get a more clear picture and post it in a bit, if nothing occurs to anyone soon.

    Thank you!

It sort of has a Celtic look to it.
I was trying to find Celt Pottery, but no luck. Glazes for Celtic pottery do seem similar.

The form of the animal also has a Swedish shape, but I struck out there too.

Oh, wow, you just jogged my mind! I recall seeing a bunch of Finnish trinkets and figures that had bulbous bodies and beaded ornamentation... this is the only example I could find...

That's interesting with the Finnish beaded decoration! The mark looks kind of like it says, "CEL.... POTTERY" possibly like Celtic Pottery, maybe? But, I don't know. I still haven't found anything like this animal. Here's the clearer close up of the mark.....

Maybe someone will recognize the stamp now? Keeping my fingers crossed! :)
