Redware/ stoneware crock with dancing Turnip

    This was one of those i have to have it but i don't know why things.
    This crock is 6 1/2" tall, no markings that i can see. The lid is wood and i think a replacement?
    looks like there was some writing next to her.
    maybe a visit to crocker farms is in order?

    I'm betting she's a radish conducting a whole band of crocks. Cannister set maybe? I'd bet there were more veggies playing instruments.

    A radish was part of the lexicon in the old days - small and "spicy" female, so it makes sense a smaller cannister beet-like sorta-turnip character would be a radish. These days no one eats radishes except the old folks and not all of them.:hungry::hungry::hungry:

    An early Ohio canning crock that someone painted at a later date..
