Before I start - please disregard the price sticker! (Of course, if the value is correct, let me know :woot:)

This large ribbed amethyst glass vase measures 9" tall, top diameter is 8 1/8", and base diameter is 6 3/8". The piece is lightweight so probably doesn't have much lead in it.

The bottom has a British Registry number Rd 542290. According to my Victorian Decorative Glass book by Mervyn Gulliver, the design was registered to Thomas West Carnie, 60 Bryanston St, London on June 5, 1909. The book further states that the manufacturer is unknown. However, googling around showed similar, unribbed versions attributed to Stevens & Williams, and one post said Whitefriars made them in smaller versions. I wasn't able to find one this large or with ribs.

Do any of the good glassies here have any information on the maker?

    Thanks so much!

Looks like a Davidson shape. Not Whitefriars, imo.

One of the sources I found via Google said Whitefriars made these in small sizes, which would apply to the Worthpoint one. I found one online that was 7" tall and unribbed in jade green with the same RD number. It was listed as Stevens & Williams, but of course that ain't necessarily so.

I don't care if it is pidgeon-toed and made by the Smith Brothers! Gorgeous! (I'm a sucker for colors like that, but even so...Wow!)
