i have never seen anything like this. It seems a bit old and road weary. Any info on what you would call this? Is it worthless or worth saving?

If you google framed chalkware madonna , you'll find some similar.

Can we see the back? (Always a good idea to post a pic of the back)

I’m thinking the value is in the Madonna. But what do I know lol

I was thinking the way the back is finished might help place country of origin.

But I'm obviously out of my depths. ;)

There used to be avid chalkware collectors, but I don't know if they still exist.

I'm guessing not a lot of value, but wait for others.

She's as lovely as a young Bette Davis.................unfortunately He looks like Peter Lorre.......................and NOT a young Peter Lorre

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Can you give an approximate size of JUST Mary and Jesus together?? Not the frame.......in the frame they look rather small. From what I'm seeing it looks like both Mary and Jesus have lost their heads together at one time, but had them put back on. Sadly, I'm thinking that will probably hurt any value considerably......along with the other chipping....

I'm getting a Central European vibe, also from the type of floral painting.
In which case she could be Marlene Dietrich.
He could still be Peter Lorre, except I don't think he looks like him. Maybe because his mother is Marlene Dietrich....

JMHO. not Mary, but Sant'Anna that has typically blue eyes especially in the south of Italy.

I'm with the others, Mary and Jesus.

When St Anne is depicted with Mary on her arm or lap, Mary is generally seated on the left, wearing a dress, often decorated with Mary lilies for purity, and has long hair.
St Anne is depicted as an older lady, often with lines in her face and under her veil the hood which older ladies wore in the Middle Ages.

This is a young woman with just a veil to cover her head, and baby Jesus is depicted the usual way, which is as a baby with short hair and semi-dressed or with a veil across his nether regions.:)
Partial nudity is fine for baby Jesus, but not for young Mary.;)

This marked difference in depiction is to distinguish Anne and Mary from Mary and Jesus.
These are examples of Anne with Mary on her arm:

I do NOT mean to be disrespectful, but that pose has always looked to me as if St Anne is saying "Now Mary, make sure you have a dime in your shoe and if that boy gets fresh you call and Daddy will come and pick you up."
