Religious pendant? Anyone familiar with it's age?

Religious pendant it's about an inch tall one side seems to be either Jesus or Mary with halo sun in the back ground the other side I have no idea, anyone familiar with this pendant ?

It looks like two views of The Madonna but I don't think this is much of anything.

This is a popular Roman Catholic pendant.
Do you know what the material is?
The first side shows a madonna and child seated on a throne. Both are crowned, a reference to the kingdom of heaven, and Jesus has a halo.
The outstretched arms of the baby Jesus are unusual, nice.
It would have looked something like this, slightly different, but you get the idea:


The second side shows the 'immaculate heart of Mary'. That means her heart is pure, and she opens it with love for mankind.
She has a halo, and behind her a lily as a symbol of purity.
It would have looked like this, except this Mary is holding the lily in her hand.

 

It looks like rust on the right edge in photo 2.

 

It does, Looks like it spent years in a damp place or someone's backyard.

 

I call these "begging medals"; they're often sent in fundraiser letters, begging for money. I'm a Protestant and even I get one sometimes. This has some age on it, but it's not antique. It does look dug; people used to sometimes bury these for good luck or whatever, so maybe that's what happened to it. It was probably silver-plated originally.
