    It reminds me of those Peruvian silver mounted pre-Columbian textile pieces, but I have never seen them like this. Maybe someone else knows.

    I'm not sure what textile fragment would qualify as a religious relic, aside from the Shroud of Turin. A piece of Joseph's donkey blanket, maybe?

    Textile relics abound, whether real or not. Tunics and fragments of saints' clothing, for instance.

    Whatever you think of relics, they are important to people of many faiths around the world. I for one respect that.
    It is just a pity that fakers throughout the centuries have taken advantage of those faithful. But even a fake can bring solace, as we've seen with the Turin Shroud.
