Featured Repaired satsuma censer lid result

    Hi folks

    a continuation of

    think i'm finally at the stage where i'm sort of happy with it

    its not meant to be trying to fool anybody, just for the damage not to look like an eye sore

    added a kintsugi (spell check wanted to replace that with skin tight) type finish to the inside to show where the damage is

    decided to add little moriage dots to the cracks so it wasn't so apparent. also hoping that the moriage would blend in with japanese decoration better

    trial and error really, certainly wasn't the first attempt at it, probably the 5th, or 6th :)

    as you see above some of the original paint was lost/sanded trying different things

    I think that's what is called a "sympathetic repair." Well done. It's a happy censer now!
