Reuge Ste Croix Switzerland Pull cord maybe wall mount?

Hi all.
I thought you all would like to see my latest Reuge purchase.
It is not a box so i think it must have been mounted on the wall.
The fringe I think is wool? the black part is leather, and the cow is brass.
It works but the string is frayed. I have no idea what the tune is either.

That part is in the style of the festive cow bell straps from Appenzell, Switzerland. So it is probably a souvenir from Appenzell, although Appenzell souvenirs are also sold in other parts of Switzerland.
