Trying to see if this is a true peridot

And what is the clear stone?

 

Certainly looks peridot green to me, but really a jeweler would be better able to confirm it. It's more likely to be a gemstone if the metal is precious (gold/silver/plat). Top one may be quartz? It looks nicely faceted, but is it loose in the setting?

 

Might help to show pictures of the markings.

Won't identify the stones, but might give an idea of the quality of the setting. Which can be informative.

 

The answer to what kind of stone this sterling ring holds is 'filthy'.

 

It's a stone with a broken corner.
