This was purchased as an antique before 1980. I have found some images of similar chairs online but unfortunately they led to dead links. : -(

Based on what I have been able to find I am thinking (wild guess here!) Chestnut “bentwood”rocking chair around 1900?

    I welcome more expert opinions! : -)

I love this rocker and have (I am told) since infancy, lol.

Circa 1900 is right on. Think the wood is birch with a stain applied.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

It appears to be in pretty good condition, too.
