20x24inches, black and white photo poster on photographic paper of Roger Moore in a scene as the Saint in the 1960s. I'm guessing that due to his hair being longer later on when he was in the Persuaders with Tony Curtis. Just wondering if anyone recognised the other two male actors in the scene. Charity shop man thought one if them often played a German which seems plausible. I don't know if the US and the rest of the world got to see The Saint? Thanks for any info. The red box etc is there to stop it rolling up. The back is very clean so it may not be that old, also I haven't been able to find this image online.

He was much better cast as Simon Templar than as James Bond, IMO.

Are you sure it's Roger Moore? Might be Oliver Reed (who was always much more menacing).

Yeah, he WAS once a bit more menacing...............but he lost my respect in that respect when he made the musical Oliver. He was the most unbelievable, wishy-washy Bill Sikes (sp?) I could imagine. I mean, I realize that the film was family oriented, but come on!!!! If they could make Nancy's murder scene so gnarly, they could have made Bill's character at least SEEM capable of such violence. His character almost ruined a reasonably good film. We will not mention that in the end he (only) song performance was cut from the final film...................

I was impressed with his cool and vicious fighting style in the Musketeers movies.

Ugh. The Oliver Reed and Alan Bates (nekked) wrestling scene in 'Women in Love.'

That scene is available on youtube and I have now watched it.

The only thing I found really off-putting was the Very. Dramatic. Music. :p

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Can you tell who the other actors were? I think that might be useful. I can't tell from the still photo.

Sadly I haven’t been able to find the Saint episode where this b/w still has been taken from despite looking at a lot of the trailers.
I think the others are referring to the Women in Love male nude wrestling with Oliver Reed.

Well, @Jivvy said she found the scene on YouTube. It may or may not tell what episode it is from. Jivvy?

Debora, that scene pretty much RUINED that film for me! Ugh is right! (And this from a real Lawrence fan - I wrote my undergrad thesis on Lawrence...)
