This bowl has a gold band along the rim and hand painted flowers. The glass is purple on the rim but clear in the middle. The bottom of the bowl flows into a short foot rather than a round shape. The bowl is about 7 inches across and 3 inches high. It is marked vintage. Is it something interesting? I know nothing about glassware.

So a bowl for short stem flowers - that makes sense.

This would be called a console bowl and would normally have a pair of matching candlesticks. It would have held a flower arrangement in the center of the dining table or buffet/sideboard. I can't help with manufacturer or dating though, that's usually what I come here for!

I believe it would have had a flower frog in the center.

So the frog would fit into the stem, then.
