I purchased this piece at an auction and am interested in learning more about it. It's 21" tall and the opening is 11" wide. I found some listings using Google Lens, but I'm uncertain about their accuracy. Thank you!

Doesn't look like Roseville to me.

Me neither. Umbrella stand. @verybrad Do you think it is American?

The white base color is unusual for most of the American companies I'm familiar with. Also the gold band is not something I'm used to seeing on American stands. Pretty glaze though.

I'm not seeing Roseville. I would think the repaired lip would have some impact on value.

Just so you have an idea of the jardiniere mentioned in McConnell's Spongeware book from the one link above.

    From his book:

I don't know if you saw this one. They say it's signed Weller though there isn't a photo of the base. I only have one Weller book but see nothing like it in there.

Maybe it's a lead, maybe not.

My initial reaction was that it was not Ohio but could be East coast or European. The piece above suggests otherwise so who knows? Some of the earlier Ohio wares are atypical in clay color so maybe it is Weller.

Edit: A quick search shows some early marked Weller pieces with very white clay color.

OP's is very similar to the Weller one. I note that where the OP's piece has a gold band, the Weller has a mold line.
