    I think this is a fairly recent picture, painted on Luan plywood.

    The frame and whatever's on the back didn't start life together. Those nails are "vintage last week" too. Beyond that....dunno.

    As mos said, it is painted later. But it is very nice quality, and an attractive subject.
    It is always better to have a good painting, in good condition, no matter the age, than a bad antique painting.
