    IMG_1265.jpeg IMG_1266.png IMG_1259.jpeg IMG_1249.jpeg Hello everyone,

I recently acquired this secondhand ring, and I'm hoping someone can help me identify its origin or maker.

    Details:
    - 18k rose gold (stamped “750”)
    - Deep red heart-shaped ruby (natural, hand-cut)
    - Five lavender-pink stones (believed to be natural pink tourmalines, very slightly violet under certain light)
    - Milgrain and filigree craftsmanship on the crown and band
    - One mysterious feature: a deeply engraved Φ (phi) symbol inside the band, beside the 750 mark

    What makes it particularly interesting:
    - The Φ is much deeper and sharper than the 750, suggesting it might be the original mark or a personal emblem.
    - The ring appears entirely handmade, not cast — the symmetry, milgrain, and crown shape seem hand-formed.
    - The style reminds me of late 19th to early 20th century
    - It feels like a sentimental or symbolic piece — possibly a love token, engagement ring, or something deeply personal.

    I would love help identifying:
    - Has anyone seen this Φ used as a maker’s mark?
    - Does the style match any specific region, workshop, or period you recognize?
    - Any ideas on how to date or trace this piece more precisely?

Thank you so much in advance — any insight is deeply appreciated.
I feel this ring holds a story… I just don’t know what it is yet.

Yeah I wouldn't use ChatGPT on this. It's a complete waste of time and just spits out nonsense.

You have a very modern ring, variations of which are made today.

Chat GPT is worthless sometimes. This one of those times. The side stones look purple on my monitor. The mark is a Phi - Greek alphabet letter - if that helps.

The photos aren't clear enough to say much. The maker's mark was made with ring stamping pliers. The shank looks like it was cast with soldered on tube settings. The "white" stones have different sized tables which could mean pre-1920's stones, but people still use the older stones. If you really want to know about the ring take it to a manufacturing jeweler who can actually see it in person.

another vote for modern- might not be vintage. Googled the image and there’s actually many similar designs, but one of them might be an original and rest copies. Also this looks cast to me, they could mass-produce several rings and hand set different stones.

    Welcome @stellawine .
Charming, fashionable ring and a good fineness. I'm with the others, fairly recently made and cast. The style is not late 19th-early 20th. I have seen similar rings refered to as 'Disney princess ring'.

If I remember correctly, rose gold came back into fashion again ca 10 years ago. I have come across the Φ mark before, but can't remember when and where.
It is very difficult to take an item seriously with AI nonsense, so I try to blank it out.
