    Hi all,

Does anyone know what this rug symbolizes, where it comes from and the approximate period?

I’ve inherited this piece from my great grandfather. Nobody seems to know with certainty but some family members have claimed it could be from a Tibetan temple. My Google research led nowhere.

    What do you think?

    Dimensions: 213cm x 47cm / 83.8 in x 18.5 in

Many thanks in advance for any clues!

    Sam

    imo....that's not a rug
looks like it was woven on a Jacquard loom...
I'd think for the wall or....long table runner....

Are these possibly 2 stitched together? Can you show the center length close up?
