Classic antique Caucasian silver niello dagger buckle, with the early kokoshnik mark, left looking, 1896-1908.
I love these, and finally got one dirt cheap because of a wrong listing.:D Listed as Djokja/Yogya (Indonesian), no Djokja collector would touch it of course, so the seller accepted my silly bid.
A few years ago I got a Wang Hing Chinese export silver buckle the same way. Here in the Netherlands, when silver looks slightly exotic, it is Djokja.

My question is about the word in the centre, does it read Kavkaz, for Caucasus? And the maker's mark(?) on the back of the little dagger, OK? @Figtree3 or someone else?
    Thanks for looking.

Thanks Phaik, nice links, I wouldn't mind the belt in the second link coming this way.:hilarious: OK is ok for a maker's mark then, one thing solved.
Kavkaz is also very likely as a transcription.

Yes, Any, you are right. It reads Kavkaz for Caucasus

I agree, It reads Kavkaz and it uses "old" spelling (the last character was dropped from proper spelling shortly after 1917 revolution).

Thank you for the reaction, translation and information @Natasha , @IIG and @Figtree3 . I was a bit puzzled by the extra letter and the shape of the a's. I even tried to turn it around, and the a's looked like r's, but the rest didn't look right.
