Russian sculpture 1927 made from alabaster

    Hello everyone!

    I've decided to start this thread to ask your help regarding evaluation of this piece.

    This is a sculpture created by relatively famous sculptor Kirpichnikova T.S. (1899-1981). She created a number of monuments in Saint-Petersburg, primarily in socialist realism style.

    The sculpture is made of alabaster or gypsum I suppose. It's 47cm tall and 21 cm wide.

    It contains author's name and year of creation on the back and unclear inscription on the side which I can't puzzle out.


    Although it might never leave the country, I'd like to find out what do you think about it's possible price. According to the first estimates I received, it may cost up to 2500$.

    To determine value it would help to know exactly what it is made out of. Alabaster would command a much higher price than gypsum(plaster). It does look like plaster to me, looking at the chip also the hair has been patinated with a pigmented wash.
